Born at Dunfermline, Aug. 1 (?), 1394; assassinated near Perth, Feb. 20, 1437. His "Kingis Quair" (King's Booklet: 1404?) is a poem of spirit; and in "The Ballade of Guid Counsale", almost certainly his, are many fine passages.
