This small town, agreeably situate on the declivity of a hill, about two miles from the Mediterranean, and twelve from Toulon, is the least exceptionable residence in Provence for the pulmonary invalid. It is in some measure protected from the northerly winds; but not sufficiently so from the mistral to render it a very desirable residence for the phthisical. - Sir James Clark.
